Restore State Arts Funding – The Time is Now!
Georgia and its major cities are missing opportunities when the state Arts Council sustains a 90% cut in funding, reduced staff and a 94% membership vacancy on the Georgia Council. Georgia has no initiative for partnerships between arts organizations and businesses and institutions in sectors such as communication, science, engineering and education. Compare that with Birmingham where a broad-based initiative to promote new relationships between business and the arts was unveiled on Monday at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

“Creative Birmingham,” a three-year project led by the Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham, is designed to build partnerships between arts organizations and businesses and institutions in sectors such as tourism, science and engineering and education.
