Your post cards reached the Governor. Now it is time to call, write or e-mail Governor Deal to remind him to appoint qualified citizens and arts supporters to serve on the Georgia Council for the Arts.

After 16 months in office Governor Nathan Deal has officially appointed only 2 people to serve on the Georgia Council for the Arts. There are 30 vacancies. No Chair was appointed last July 1. Some districts have no representation!

[Georgia has 14 Congressional Districts including the new 14th District. The Arts Council has 2 members per Congressional District, or 28 Council members, plus 4 at-large members – a full Arts Council constitutes 32 members. Reapportioned districts were approved and effective January 1, 2012.]
